Zucchini

So, as my mother pointed out, it is possible my zukes are not being pollinated. This is very likely as I do not seem to have much bug traffic at all on my patio. I've only seen a bee once.

Because my zucchini seem to bloom while I'm at work and the blooms are done when I come home, I haven't really noticed which are male and which are female. I went out this morning to investigate and do a little pollinating, but it seems I only have males? That's a problem if you want your zucchini to fruit...


My tomato plant, however, has several green tomatoes for me to impatiently wait for to ripen. (:

Cover Up

You'll see from the picture what my garden looks like now. For the past week and for the next one too the complex is painting all of the patios. To avoid damage to everything I had to bring some things into the already cramped apartment and cover up my plants. Blech.

Also, there's an emergency. All off my plants are doing great with urge exception of my zukes and cukes. They are blooming beautifully but once the bloom is done, the bloom falls right off at the base. There are only a couple that haven't done that. Blech again.

New Patio

Finally settled and organized. The garden is doing pretty well!

Melampodium I just picked up on sale.

Blueberry branches I snagged.

Bloom on my cucumber volunteer from the compost I used for my strawberries

Lemon Balm I pulled up right before I moved.
