Spring is Slowly Approaching

Even though the weather is icky, to say the least, I am excited about the progress I am having.

My blueberry and strawberries are still looking good!

Sad that the blooms will need to be removed.

My hydrangea is leafing out!

Out of curiosity I kept the chrysanthemum I bought last last fall to see just what would happen. Almost all around the edge of the container there are little chrysanthemum growths!

I hope that any day now I will see a bud grow out and develop from my muscari, grape hyacinths, and daffodils.

I also can't wait to see all of my ranunculus bloom!

  1. Spring really is slowly approaching. One hour is sunny and the next is snailing(snow + hail). Rebecca Landis's husband come up with that one. Very appropriate. We will all just keep waiting. Nice photos.

  2. Rebecca Landis! I met her last spring while working with the CBC Library's youth center on their summer reading program. She's was nice to work with. :)

I'm glad I have a term for that now! It has been snailing more than I would like, that's for sure. I simply cannot hold my britches much longer for my ranunculs, muscari, and even my daffs!

  3. It's snailing here on the Coast too. Humm..... chrysanthemum growths? Is that an actual term used to describe plant growth?

    1. Just rain so far today. Cold too! Chrysanthemum growths refers to the little chrysanthemum stems coming out at the edge of the plant. Must be from rhizomes? I don't know what is going on. I'm just excited that it is growing. :) Maybe I'll look it up...
